Who Am I?

Lately I have been thinking about my aunts and uncles and grandparents. I lost my mother a couple of years ago and that started me thinking about all of the others and the fact that I didn't even have pictures of my aunts and uncles to show my children who they were.

I really got to thinking about this when I first started a blog called 'Baking Magic'. I wanted to put
a picture of my Aunt Rose, the woman who got me real interested in cooking. I didn't have ANY pictures of any of my relatives, not even my mom and dad. I actually stopped working on my
blog (but plan to start again) and just started trying to find out how to get more information
about my family. Unfortunately most of my family members close to me had passed away.

Fast forward to 2014 and voila! I had moved to north Georgia and joined a Baptist church. While on a day trip with the senior group I heard about a genealogist who was a member of my church!
At the table where we were eating, my music director told me who it was. I had never met him
because our church has two services. I always go to the early service, while the genealogist goes to the later one.

Needless to say, I found out about the next class he was teaching and signed up. I had my first
class in 2014. It was a lot to take in. While I was taking this class, I also was operating a small bakery. While I was running the bakery I couldn't just take off and research, so I decided to
wait until I retired again. It happened that Bob (genealogist) offered a second class and I took
it too. Then I closed the bakery Thanksgiving and thought I could just take off, but I had so much
to go through that I haven't left yet. I took yet another class in March 2015 and it just ended.

Now in three weeks, I will make my first road trip! I was born in Macon, Bibb County, GA in 1957.
So my first trip will be to the Washington Library in Macon. Follow me and see where I go. And always, follow your family through the years...
